The best option for microstock photography will always be a SLR camera.
Now, having said that, some guys here in DT are shooting with point-and-shoot / megazoom cameras with great results. You have to try to get the best image quality from them, but you can do allright.
There's been a thread where people were showing their images taken with PS cameras (I think).
