Joined: December 1, 2005
Equipment: Canon EOS Rebel SLR w/ 35-80mm lens and 75-300mm Sigma telefoto lens; various filters, tripods; OTC films by Kodak and Fuji usually 400 to 800 speed and occasionally professional quality film up to 16oo speed. I also have a Canon PowerShot S500 (Digital Elph) using a 1.0 GB Compact Flash. I recently acquired a Nikon D50 digital SLR with a Nikkor AF-S 18-55 mm, f/3.5-5.6G lens and an additional Nikkor AF-S 55-200mm, f/1.4-5.6G telefoto lens. I have also added the Nikon Speedlight SB-800. This month (May 2010) I bought a Lumix DMC-FZ35. I have also purchased the Canon EOS 7D which I love.
Favourite subjects: Nature, Animals, Events, Weddings, Spontaneous; Documentary materials, specifically dental forensics. I just love taking pictures of whatever is around me.
Bio / Artistic statement
Subtle yet strong with asymetric balance. Too much symmetry makes for a boring outlook. Life is all about chaos - equilibrium is rare but the search yields the beauty of it's mystery.
My photographs record my interplay with life and as such become a visual diary for my geriatric years when my brain cells and eyes may not be in focus but someone else can describe my photographic memories to me!
