I can't comment too much on light tents; I have one and thought it was great for about 3 days, but it's collecting dust at the moment. Tents give you flat light, and there's not much you can do about it. I'm now using a 4x5 foot plexiglass sweep with white seamless paper underneath. It gives me a true isolated look, and more control over how I make the light fall. The whole setup was around $50 (30 pounds). As for wireless triggers, I have been brutal on my set of 8 Cactus V5's, and they are standing up to the challenge fantastically. They are murder on AAA batteries though! Dead overnight if you forget to flip the on/off switch. Also, when using hot-shoe flashes as studio lights you aren't locked to brand or model. Any old Nikon/Canon/Sunpak whatever will work great. Nikon SB-28's are going for well under $100 on ebay. In the meantime you can wing it with reflectors, mirrors, etc. Good luck! posted in cheap and cheerful light tent and lights
