His father gave him his first manual camera at the age of 14, and he shot everything he could. Throughout schooling his focus was basketball and he received an athletic scholarship. Michael grew up in upstate New York as a strong willed and artistic kid. He was introduced to the wilderness before he could walk. His father gave him his first manual camera at the age of 14, and he shot everything he could. Throughout schooling his focus was basketball and he received an athletic scholarship. Torn between his love for the arts and basketball. When he finished school he put his focus on photography. With his passion for the wilderness and nature photography he found himself in Yosemite National Park. Inspired by the sheer glacial polished granite cliffs, he began to explore and photograph all of it's beauty.
After five years of capturing nature at it's best, His emotional connection to his subject matter came across clearly in his early landscape imagery, Michael's interest in photographing people grew. Now incorporating people and nature together he found a new passion in capturing people at their best.
His next step was moving to San Diego where there was beauty in nature and plenty of people to photograph. Soon becoming obessed with capturing people in natural moments, he began photographing portraits and weddings to understand the relationship of emotions with photography.
Now stepping into the world of commercial photography. Michael is working with magazines, corporations, and ad agencies in Southern California.
