
This is kind of a tricky question....here's why....
In the old days of film, you take a negative and you develop it. You chose a particular film type (Velvia vs. Kodachrome as an example) based on the situation, and you developed it using adjustments to the chemicals as necessary to get the correct results.
These days, we create an image and record it on a memory card, then we "develop" that image in a digital or virtual darkroom on a computer...using adjustments as necessary to get the results.
I can tell you that every image in my portfolio with the exception of the two illustrations are "real". Stock images have been modified to clone out brands and labels. I don't have any images in my portfolio where I have "created" an image by merging an element of one photo into another.
What you see is what you get :-)
