It´s allways a compromise, I use three canon lenses, a 10-22, a 24-105 L and a 70-300 IS, of course I am reaching a wider range than the 18-200, but its bulky and I have to switch lenses all the time.
I used to have a 17-85 IS, it was a very good lenses, but with lots of distortion specially at 17mm.
The 10-22 and the 24-105 are definitelly much better.
