Last week a whole batch, 9 out of 9 images I submitted were refused by this sole reason : "You already have SEVERAL very similar images in your portfolio or approved within this batch."Very surprised considering that not even one single image in this batch had been approved and I had nothing similar in my portfolio I contacted support; the reply I received from one of the reviewers was that I have already these images accepted without any filtering. This was actually true, however it seems dreamstime directives, I quote "We were said not to approve same images which are only filtered with post processing" is interpreted differently by different editors. If the editor who refused my images is right, then it seems to me that dreamstime deny us, contributors, the possibility to enhance any image we already have approved and deny us (and dreamstime as well) the revenues of potential sales that could come from the new ones.Besides, is it one image already approved too many images ??? Consider this one (apparently approved 'by mistake' according to the reply I received) Do you really see the same image ?? According to this directive, or this editor interpretation it is, despite the two convey a completely different atmosphere. It seems to me a very poor selection criteria if dreamstime will start refusing such images. Dreamstime database is full of examples like the one above, which encouraged me to try and upload something new, not remotely thinking that they were going to to refused, as they did for such a reason. If I had knew, certainly I would had been more carefully selected my images, but dreamstime policies regarding what is acceptable and what is not apparently are not public, at least I could not find them anywhere in the website. Also, changes in policies should be informed to contributors to avoid unpleasant surprises.
You can start looking at other similar images and see how they were categorized by the photographers who uploaded them, this will give you a starting point to choose what you think is best.posted in Image category
