Did anything of this change???

As far as I understood, the commission paid to photographer is the same (50-60%), but the base has changed. Before it used to be 50-60% out of 1 credit (1$). But Dreamstime, was making discounts, sometimes selling the credit for 0.8-0.9$, while still paying to contributors 0.5-0.6$. This way, we were getting even 80% of what dreamstime was making. Although good for us, it wasn't too fair, so I think fixing this "problem" is good. Now we will get 50-60% out of the real selling price...

The sales you are talking about are subscription sales from the the old credits.

Actually my RPD has hit the lowest - 0.58, but there are a lot of sales. I think this is due to excessive subscription sales that happened. The sales didn't just doubled... they are four times than usual sales but all @ 0.30. But surely once the old credits are over my RPD will increase.

The 'excessive' subscription sales are helping to push your images into higher pricing catagories which is what makes sub. sales a lot less painful here than at other sites. :)

Yes, I can't wait for the old package sub sales to work through the system. I'm still getting 30/36c sales, and I assume those will make up the bulk of the sub sales this month.

Early returns are very promising. Only 7 sales so far this month to guage off of, but they have come at an RPD of $1.53. That is by far my highest RPD anywhere. Good work DT!

Everyone who has new credits or doesn't have credits at all can see the new pricing.

Even though I have old credits, I am seeing new prices on photos in my Lightboxes.

I thought that in an earlier post the pricing didn't change. Can you please explain how a photo that was 1 credit is now showing as 2 credits for the same size?

Thanks in advance.

Weddingcanvas, you still see the old prices, what changed is the level of some images. Most of the content of your lightboxes still has the same pricing, whether they are level 1 or 2, but some of the images from level 1 were upgraded to level 2.

1. If you wish to avoid the higher pricing, you should try to find a replacement for them from the new images, which are level 1. You will experience the same pricing.

2. If those ones are important to you, the new level didn't increase the price that much. Yes, there are differences but by looking at the total number of credits required by your lightboxes, the difference caused by the levels update is not significant.

Beautiful selection btw.

The amount of dls needed to reach a new level have gone down so lots of images are getting a double raise. One if an image goes up to a higher level which will show whatever credits are used and another one if people buy with 2008 credits which won't show up if you still have 2007 credits.

An update after this release...

The first weekday (Monday Aug.4) when the new pricing was available, shows an increase of 25% for all contributors' average RPD compared to a week before. This is happening with only a little over 20% of new credits from everything spent that day, as they just started rolling...Even if some users switch to subscriptions, where royalties are lower, the total revenue should see a strong growth for all users. This comes to confirm my previous post that the gain will be considerable and will avoid significant canibalization between different pricing plans.

A few top contributors randomly selected in this research, already see an increase of 30-40% or more for their RPD.

RPD is great, but doesn't mean anything if the total isn't as good or better than previously. I'd be interested to hear how those numbers are comparing. Do you have any stats along those lines Achilles?

My RPD jumped from 0.81$/DL (last month and almost the average of last 12 months) to 2.09$/DL (this month). Adding an increased number of downloads, I could say that this is my best week ever (just a few dollars away from beating my last month earnings already)!!

I really hope this trend will continue!!

Good luck to everybody!
