Hi-

I uploaded a vector alphabet a while back. It was approved as a jpeg but when I went to upload the vector file, I still didn't understand how to do it. So now I have a jpeg of an alphabet that's pretty worthless it is intended to be used as a vector. Can anyone help me figure out how to upload the vector of this file?

Sorry for my ignorance...

Yes, sure. It's here: http://www.dreamstime.com/uploadfile.php?type=3

Use Browse button, and insert your image ID (7418996, I guess) into Assign to File ID box. Then just hit the Upload button.

Have fun!

Thank you Maigi- Finding the "Upload Additional Format" was the thing I overlooked. Thanks for the link. It was easy and it said that it uploaded successfully. Thanks again!

Hello,

Is there any way of checking the file name of the additional file format you uploaded in the 'Home > My images > Modify image' or anywhere else for that matter?

I uploaded several files in batches when i first joined dreamstime (a couple of weeks ago) and uploaded the additional formats at the end of keywording each file. I have a suspicion that the file ID didn't auto-update for each file as i just assumed, at the time, that it would.

I uploaded a vector graphic done in illustrator. I submitted the JPG of the file illustration first, I waited a few minutes and then I submitted the AI file of the same illustration. I don't know if I did it correctly? Is there a way that I can upload a JPG and the AI file of the vector Illustration at the same time? Or how this is done?.
I need help.

Thanks

No, I don't think there is a way to upload a jpeg and vector file at the same time. I have found that you need to get your jpeg uploaded first. It will show up in the "unfinished files" folder. From there you can key-word your file and submit. After that submission you should be asked if you want to upload additional file formats. If you forget to upload at that time, you can always upload and additional format later while it is pending, or even later after it is accepted.

Keep in mind that your jpeg may get approved, but it will generally take several additional days for your vector file to get approved.

Two weeks would be on the long side, but not out of the ordinary. I have had some accepted a week after the jpeg is accepted, and others could sometimes take 3 weeks. I couldn't tell you why one takes longer than another. It may just be that there is an increase in additional file types being submitted.

For reference, I had a jpeg accepted on 07/02 and the vector file was accepted until 07/22.

I have two other images that were accepted mid-July that are still waiting on their additional file types.

Vector files should be saved in raster format, JPG at a high resolution, saved at highest quality and submitted in this format. You can also upload an additional format (AI, PNG, CDR or EPS extensions accepted) after the JPG upload using the FTP upload/Additional sub-folder or as soon as the JPG is accepted.

In some cases (e.g. layouts of web templates) it is advisable to upload the additional format before the review of the JPG file in order to increase chances of approval.

I upload the jpgs first. Then finish adding keywords and submit them.

Then, I go to "pending files", pick one to edit, and there is a place to upload the vector file.

Browse, select, then scroll to the bottom of the page and submit.

This vector file upload process is pretty awkward, in my humble opinion, shouldn!t it be simplified? After all, most customers who are looking 4 illos want vectors. Weird indeed...

I don't have any trouble with it. At least you don't have to do the whole thing twice, like on Shutter.

All the good sites have different reviewers for the vectors, because the technical requirements are so different. They all have different ways of routing submissions. I just wish Dreamstime could be a little quicker about getting the vector reviewed.

Dear Folks,
I am new to this site, so I simply ment to ask 4 advice here, no intention 2 disdain or provoke anybody.
In Shutter I just grab all jpg and eps files together, be them previews or source files, 20-30 of them together, drag them into a holding-uploading window, wait for them to upload, address and equip them with keywords etc, and within three days I get an answer whether approved or not.
If I can do it here as well, I would welcome info on it, so far I could not figure out how.
cheers, inspired creative work 4 all of us
