I got a quick peek at the new site before it went down. FANTASTIC!!! It really makes it easy to navigate. I can't wait until you get it up and running. The new price structure looks very interesting and the new licenses sound very interesting too.

I just may have to take a few hundred photos each day and wait until March to get the additonal 20cents per image uploaded

Seriously, thanks for thinking outside the proverbial box!

I missed the new design but more important is the new price structure.
I'm bad in mathematics so maybe someone can help me out.
The regular buyer now pays 80Cent for a websize i still get my 50Cent Commission thats good its about 62,5% commission right?
If i give an image exclusive to dreamstime i only get 60% commission so what is the deal here or did i miss something.
Help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I think it applies only when someone buys the big credits package, the price goes down to .80c per image.
Normally the percent of the artist is calculated based on 1credit= $1 (the comission is 50% for non-exclusive images and 60% for exclusive gives us $0.5 for regular and $0.6 for exclusive images)

My suggestion to everyone is that they print out a copy of the new terms and conditions, sit back with a nice cup of coffee, and read it carefully. You won't find any legal double talk, and you won't find anything in there that punishes you if you decide not to be exclusive. Above and beyond that, nothing is being thrown at you with any curves. Everything is straight, and you have plenty of time to relax, take a breath, read everything, ask questions, and then make your best decision for yourself. Achilles has posted everything, in plain English, way ahead of the time when you have to make any kind of decision.

Yes, we are all going to get a higher commission on our photos from now on. No, there are no tricks. If you read it carefully with a relaxed mind, you will see that Dreamstime is now offering you the opportunity to make a career, if that is what you choose. There is also the opportunity to enjoy your passion for photography and art without limiting your options.

The administration has been working around the clock, and all of their work has been done with the best interests of Dreamstime members in mind.

Is this the best, or what!

We still not decided if we go further with 640px (width or height) or 800px. Your feedback is more than welcome. And of course the print res is the highest size available.

You are right. We've corrected the commission table. So an exclusive photographer will earn an additional 10% for each sale.

There is no need to wait, because the nice surprise is that exclusive photographers can enable their entire portfolio to enjoy this. The exclusive files will have to be exclusive with us for at least 3 months though.
So, keep them coming.

We 're still working on the new design and we know your are all anxious to see it. We try to minimize all problems this way. Think about a custom made wardrobe, you have to go to the tailor a couple of times so it matches your needs 100% ;)

NEW PRICES
Photographer share - 62.5% - 1st package
Photographer share - 65% - 2nd package
Photographer share - 67.5% - 3rd package
Photographer share - 100% - subscription plan

Comission fee average
73.75% goes to the photographer
26.25% goes to the agency

OLD PRICES

Photographer share - 50% - 1st package
Photographer share - 60% - 2nd package
Photographer share - 65% - 3rd package

Comission fee average
58.3% goes to the photographer
41.7% goes to the agency

As you can easily see, our agency's share is almost half than for the old prices. As the price per credit is also less than double, it means that we have no significant profit from these changes. We see this as an investment in our photographers.

As a buyer, I am thoroughly and completely satisfied with the quality of the pictures Dreamstime provides its customers. I think the price increase is more than justified, and I am willing to pay it, and keep in mind that the quality will be even higher from now on.

The photographers should appreciate that they are so well represented and that DT pays such attention to their needs. Bottom line is, the photographers will eran almost double while the agency's gain is much less in terms of percentage compared to the present situation!

Well, either way I guess most of mine will also be available in print size. I'm not a designer so I don't know what an appropriate size for the net is.

No Paul. We will continue to accept only print size (in fact images higher than 3MP) but we will add the web resolution feature for designers at a lower price. But the system will resize your image and will deliver the required format to designers. You don''t have to upload different versions.

Just curious if the exclusive option relates to illustrators as well? Everything states "photographers" but some of us are illustrators.
Thanks
