Hello..

How long time it might take maximum, after picture marked as it is under review ? because I have 1 picture now which marked: "Image under review" for really long time.
After it went to review, I had some next pictures declined, one gone to free section, one more accepted, but this one still under review...

I thoght pictures going to review one after another.. but now I am little bit confused....

Sometimes they do go out of order. Sometimes they go in pending for hours and then back out again, before going back into pending or being approved right away. It is really hard to tell sometimes and hard to answer this question. But I will say that most of the time when they go into pending, they are approved or rejected within the first 2 hours. Atleast that has been my experience.

Some times it can take as much as 9 days and sometimes as few as 1 day from upload to approval or rejection. Not sure reason why, I just accept it, and am very happy when I get a 1 day approval. :)

Good luck, I am sure it will be soon.

Hi,

I've just joined up and uploaded my first set of photographs. I'm still finding some aspects of the site confusing and would appreciate any tips more experienced members can give me.

Thanks.

I would urge you newbies to look at the FAQ first.

As they can't cover everything you will still have more questions than answers so search the message boards (search box above) for specific topics, most of which will be covered here - you;ll find advice from Admin & from DT "oldies" which should prove most helpful ;-)

Hi,
also new here. I'm looking for a quick rundown of the process. Is this correct?
Register, then upload photos and they remain in the "unfinished" file until reviewed by people on the site. Then if they are approved, they can go up for sale?
Do we need to do anything else once pics are uploaded to the "unfinished" area?
I did look in FAQ, but didn't find a good answer to this.
Thanks!
Brenda

Schetnanone, welcome. We're glad to have you here at DT. Yes, there is still more to do after pictures go into the "Unfinished" area. For each picture, you'll need to select the license type (RF or Editorial), and doing this will bring you to a screen where you can edit the title, description, keywords, and categories for the image. You'll also need to click the checkbox stating that the image is completely your own and decide if you want to offer any extended licenses for the image. Once all this is done, the image will move from the "Unfinished" area to the "Pending" area. At that point, you wait for a review. Good luck!

2 my images are "Under review" since Wednesday, evening (5 days). For me it's a maximum observed, but perhaps in some cases it may take even longer.

Next question:
I've uploaded photos, then labeled them and did the licensing agreements, but now I can't see them anywhere. Do they diappear from my vew while they are in review? I thought I'd still be able to view them while in review.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Brend

Licensing question now.
Is the RF the correct license to assign my photos if I want to actually (hopefully, eventually) get paid for my photos?
Thanks again.

To Schetnanone:

I can't get you completely cos' I do not understand what does it mean 'labeled them'. Normaly things go like this:

1) You upload an image.
2) Immediately, in 'Upoload history' section (http://www.dreamstime.com/uploadhistory.php) you see the table with your file name (as it was assigned by you) and inscription 'Image not processed yet' in the last column ('Status').
3) In some time (from seceral seconds to several hours) you see in the 'Status field' something like 'Processed with image ID 29037966'. Then, you are able to go to 'Unfinished file' section (http://www.dreamstime.com/unfinished.php) and choose your file (typically by clicking on the button 'For commercial use' - or somethimg of the sort). You are transfered to the editing page where you should assign (or correct) Title, Descriptions, Categories and MR/PR (if needed). Then you click to 'submit' and your file is transfered to 'Pending Files' section (http://www.dreamstime.com/pendings.php), where you can see a table with all your images that are waiting for review.
4) In several days (up to 2 weeks) in the 'Status' section a string 'Image under review' appears. In some time (from several minutes to a week) your image gets either approved or rejected. In the first case it is moved to 'Online Files' section (http://www.dreamstime.com/uploads). If refused it is moved to 'Refused files' section (http://www.dreamstime.com/refused.php).

On all stages described above the image never disappears. You always are able to see it (or, at list an info concerning it) somewhere.

As do RF files: yes, you will be paid for them (in case somebody will buy them), prices are here: http://www.dreamstime.com/sellimages

Hope it helps.

Thanks, Igordabari,
that does help. I finally did find them somewhere.
And again, thanks to all for helping the newbies.
