A change to 'featured photographer'?

Heathse
I've been thinking that as a change to 'featured photographer' each week,( which I love) we could have a different genre now and again. For example: collages, vectors, paintings, square images, banners or as someone mentioned a few years ago, collections. This way we would all get a chance to be on the front page occasionally. Anyone out there agree?

Good suggestion. Hope to hear what DT thinks of this. :)

I think your idea is a good one.

I take it you mean, for example, featuring the genre "banners" by different contributors, rather than just one contributor?

If collections were featured these could form the basis for the different genres...ie a collection of banners by at least 20 different contributors....

I think that would not benefit the website as a whole. Buyers may not like seeing one thing all week. I feel featuring is more about the whole DT community saying "We have stuff as good and diverse as this!".
Your suggestion would only help individuals. And remember what Fred (the recently featured contributor) said in the message boards? That his being featured all week didn't make any significant difference in sales yet.

Like I suggested before, let us have a feature tab on our own profiles where we can put some good photos we hope to sell soon. Would be more helpful I guess?
