Hello

Soupisdad9010
I just joined as I have been photography for yrs as a hobby. I travel a fair bit, so friends , and family keep saying! That's an amazing photo, you should submit to a travel magazine! So.. . . . I thought I'd give this a go, and see if I can learn the ropes. I just downloaded 10 or so. Now what? Do I sit and wait to see if they are acceptable to the site? Do I need to do something further to ensure they are posted? I have no clue. Just winging it so far. . . . How do I ensure the website will pay me what they say they will?

Hello soupisdad,

Welcome to DT it is a great community. First thing I would do it make sure you set up your profile. I went and you don't see to show up. Also if you go to your management areas (up top in the black header) you should see a green bubble stating pending files. If you click on it you will see how much time before they are reviewed. If they are still in unfinished then you need to process them with keywords ect. FAQ is also a great way to figure out how the site works.

Also this is a very trustworthy site. Do not worry about being paid.

Good luck with you upcoming images. susan

Thank you ms sml. I uploaded 10 I think. Then I went offline. They have not been approved as of yet, as they say it will take hours to show them accepted. I just sent in a handful of my local domesticated squirrel Tobi. I wanted to kind of test the waters with just any old pics. So, once they are approved, they should show up, right? I have a profile, as I had to enter user name and password to see your reply. Thanks for the welcome and the advice. :)

Once you uploaded the files, did you go to management then to unfinished files, and fill in all the information about each photo? If the answer is yes, then yes all you do is sit back and wait to see if they are accepted. It can take up to 10 days.

And, Welcome to DT and I wish you the best of luck!

I see a tab marked "unfinished files", as you say, but no tab entitled "management".

If you see unfinished files you are already under management. Just click on unfinished files, then click on "Commerical" .......if it is editorial picture then click on "editorial" instead of commerical. Then just fill in the information for that image. Such as, "Image Name" , "description", and keywords, etc. Then click on submit.

Then to verify you submitted correctly just go back under management, and look under pending files. They should be listed there now.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks, but how does one determine if they are commercial or editorial, please? I have no idea what the end user will do, right?

Hi Soupisdad9010, welcome to DT!

Read the FAQ and you will get what is editorial and commercial,

Most probably images of your squirrel will be commercial since probably there are no logos, no people and no copyrighted buildings on those images.
