Here alveraphoto.blogspot.com/2013/10/uploads-vs-sales.html you can see a print screen with my Statistics from last 13 months, only two graphs, Sales and Online.

Please look at this:
1. From Jan 2013 to May 2013 very low upload activity. Sales remain at same level (average).
2. From June 2013 I start uploading again and sales start to grow.

So the advice "upload more to sale more" is true. Your King out.

Few images ever added but consistent sales, month to month, year to year. More is not better but more and better is the best.

I think the search algorithm gives a bump for active members but crap placed high sells as well as crap placed low.

I too feel like I've been seeing more action with more uploading on my part. The sales are a mixture of older images and often, brand new images. So is it an algorithm "bump" or is exposure increasing in the areas that show recently uploaded images and when customers search for the most recent uploads? I gather that no matter what, in some way, you get what you give.

I think the same, the search algorithm is involved.

Interesting theory. I wasn't aware that consistent uploading here would have any effect on search placement. I've been uploading 30-40ish per month for most of this year and my sales have remained steady. Considering how much sales have plummeted on a couple of competing sites, steady is pretty darned good IMO :)

You know, sounds logical: "upload more to sale more" but I think the exception proves the rule. I like your blog, YOUR MAJESTY!:)

If you say about 2012, that was a bad year for many. Also, DT made a lot of experiments and this is a big factor in our equation. I will keep you updated with my research.

Your logic is sound, but it's not about just uploading more. As said, you need to be uploading great quality and in addition relevant/useful photos and getting exposure to those images.

As a coworker at my full-time job once asked me, "What kind of photos sell on the stocks sites you upload to"? My response to him... "That is the million dollar question". ;)

I prefer to spend my time figuring out simpler things - meaning of life, nuclear fusion, and time travel - instead of trying to figure out what drives photo sales.

Yes I subscribe, I also noticed good sales come after some outstanding upload activity but not immediately. There is a month or so delay. I find this reasonable from DT's part.

I agree with what was said. I notice slow sales when not uploading, but if I start uploading, sales increase.
