I'd like to get the 1.4x extender and I know that there are vouchers provided with new camera purchases giving £35 off this item.

Does anyone know if there are any issues with getting these vouchers from ebay for a few pounds and using them to buy the equipment? It seems to be a cashback type arrangement, where you supply proof of purchase with the voucher direct to Canon.

On second thoughts, does anyone have a UK voucher for the 1.4 extender which they aren't going to use? ;)

There shouldn't be any problem with getting the vouchers from ebay. I had some from last year when I got my 350D and I sold the ones I didn't want on ebay. You send off the voucher, the receipt from the extender and the barcode cut from the box of the extender. I didn't need anything else bbut it might be worth making a quick check on the Canon site to see if they've changed anything since last year.

Can't help you on the voucher though...

Just a warning, you must have patience when redeeming things with Canon. You will get your money but they can be slow sometimes.

Hi Stuart,

why spending money for a voucher on E-Bay, when you can get a whole booklet of them for free via the Canon HP ?

Ralf! Thank you very much!!

I wouldn't have even thought to look on the Canon site, I just assumed that you would only get the vouchers with the purchase of a camera.

Thank you so much!

(and good luck against Italy!)

Hi all,

Just to share my experience, I've bougth the Tamron 1.4X extender. It cost less than 100 USD, and as far as i can tell, it is hard to see any loss in quality when used on my lenses ( 100-400 IS L and 55-200 USM ). This would save you more bucks than the voucher ;-)
