I have a question, which may be stupid one, but I have to ask.
Can I use DT thumbnail images on my website as referral link images? Or is it a violation of TOS?
I own copyright of my images, but thumbnail images with DT watermark are not really mine...
So, is it ok to use them on my homepage, blog etc?

The site badge is probably your best bet. Go into your management area and at the top you will see a section for referral program and site badges. Here's a quote out of the terms and conditions.

"You can also design your own badge, but it's preferred that you send it to us before putting it on your site, so we can check it."

Also,
"Dreamstime.com unique refferal URL - for a specific image
... can be found on the left side of the page of that specific image" - I believe this is just a link not a photo, but you may be able to use this too.

Hope this helps

Hey Pat, thanks a lot!
I thought it might be so. Of course I can always watermark my photos and upload them anywhere I want, but I thought, maybe there's an easier way to do it... I must be too lazy... ;)

Maigi, I upload thumbnails of my images to my website then provide a link at the bottom of the images that say "buy this image here" which is a referral link to the image on the site this way if it is anyone that hasn't bought or signed up with DT before, you get credit for the referral.

The referral link is below your image (the last field below the image). I've found that in order to make the link work, I have to remove the spaces in the link. For example:

http://www.dreamstime.com/Asiatic Royal Sunset Lily-rimage1257999-resi76976

becomes:

http://www.dreamstime.com/AsiaticRoyalSunsetLily-rimage1257999-resi76976

Hyperlinking the image directly would probably take up a lot of bandwidth for the DT site as well as your site so it may not be an efficient use of resources for you :-)

Good point. That's a really solid argument. ;)
Now I have to forget about my laziness, and get to work...
Thanks, Ed! :)

You may use the thumbnails, it is also advisable to use the full credit line. You can link the images to our server and use direct links and/or display a link underneath them.

If you participate in the referral program, make sure you use the referral URL, even if you link your own photos.
People that want to display other images, can do it too.
