My Christmas list includes

Alienbees 400 Strobe (to add to my current 2 to use as a hair spot or a backdrop light)

2 Softboxes (been using umbrellas and hate them...HATE I say)

Gels and attachment

If I could ask for anthing I wanted I would add:

New

Powerbook 17"

Cintiq 21UX

I hope Santa is trolling.

Yes, Santa, please do peek at this thread because they won't let me sit on your lap at the mall.

I've been almost very good this year, so I'd like:

--Digital light kit (3 strobes if possible)

--All the L lenses made for Canon

--17" Powerbook for traveling

--Tickets, lots of tickets, back to all the places I've been so I can reshoot everything

--Lots of smiles and good days ahead for everybody, especially those who give us an outlet for our photo obsessions, and everybody else like me who can't keep their hands off a camera.

Saving up for a Canon 400mm f/2.8. Probably going to have to trade my truck in for it and get a smaller vehicle.

Post Edit: Forgot to mention the Wimberly tripod head to match.

Well, as long as the ghost of Christmas past has come back to life, How about a Canon EOS 5 D? OR a 20 D? Or, I'll settle for a Rebel XT?

How 'bout it, Santa?

Or even some downloads would be good. ;-)

Hey Santa, A nice model would be great. I'm not picky ... blond, brunette ... then I can stuff a cellphone in her hand and place her in front of some modern corporate building, while she shakes hands with a business man, who's holding a laptop. The pictures I would get should result into lots of downloads and then I can buy anything I want :)

Ok, right, I see ... a Canon 100mm macro lens will do too. ;)

OK maybe the 400mm was ambitious. I'm trying to think of what I can always use (aside from things like the books recommended or advice) that aren't specific to a camera manufacturer...

Lens Filters (how about filter kits)?

Software Plug Ins - Like anti-noise software

Cases/bags (not necessarily what I would primarily use to carry my camera in but something I can store things in when not in use like a Pelican Hard case)

Lens Tissue/Lens Cleaning Cloth (they wear out quickly on me)

Another tripod or tripod head

Studio Lighting equipment and bulbs

Just some thoughts

Nice thread! Its fun to dream about all the gear i would like to buy, but not so nice to hear my wifes reaction to the mounting credit card bills! lol

The top of my gadget list has just been ticked off. I should have my Sigma 10-20 lens in about 2 weeks, along with a few grad ND filters.

Next on the list in order of importance...

Canon 20D pistol grip water housing... http://www.photosupportsystems.com/still/EOS20D/CanonEOS20D.htm

Canon 300 f/4L (or 2.8 if i can really save some $$$!)

Light kit (2 strobes umbrellas/softboxes)

Canon 70-200 f/2.8L

Canon EOS 1Dmk2N (8.5fps!!!)

The water housing and 300 f/4 are coming by the end of the year, so its going to be a fun time in the water. I just have to start swimming again!

This is funny that this thread came up again. I still need more lens filters (found a need for a 77mm Neutral Density this morning). I got my noise software. Got my Pelican Case, have two lens cleaning cloths that work OK, broke a tripod last night but my good one is still in great shape. No studio lighting equipment yet except for hot lights...I keep trying to talk myself into it but I'm thinking of a new lens and new camera.

Boy, are we ever satisfied? :-)
