Author Message

Great work DT to make this happen!

To make the new structure clear to myself can someone help me with this. For example a 12mp image of level 1, will this cost 2 or 4 credits?

cheers

This will be the part that will happen tomorrow, i.e. the new prices.

At this time (and for all credits acquired until tomorrow) it will cost 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 credits, depending on its number of downloads.

To answer your question in a different way, the 12 MP resolution assures you the highest royalties possible. :)

I was confused about this until I read the last post on page 12. This makes it all clear. If you're confused like I was, make sure you scan back a page!

i have an assignment file from last year - therefore allocated 100 downloads - which has had 92 actual downloads, giving it a total of 192 downloads.

Why is it showing as a level 3 and not a level 4?

EDITED TO ADD: Weird. On my profile page the small thumbnail popup says it is Level 3, but everywhere else, ie, portfolio and searches, list it correctly as level 4...

I sold a 4000x4000pix illustration today and got 50c for it. I would have gotten $1 before.

So I'm losing money with the new price structure, am I not?

That's a good point... The web and print versions now both sell for one credit each, so technically we will be making less on each photo until they sell 24 times. Is that correct?

This doesnt make much sense.

For what I´ve seen in the price list:

http://www.dreamstime.com/aboutimages

The print version is 2 credits and the WEB version is 1 credit for a level 1 image.

Adelaide probably sold a WEB version of hers picture, so a reduced 800 x 600 size picture of hers 4000 x 4000 ilustration, isnt that the case?

Small - 1 credit = 50c commision

Med - 2 credits = $1

Large - 3 credits = $1.50

Max - 4 credits = $2

I just sold two Level 4 images, maximum size for $4.80 each!! Sweet.

But... looking at the price chart on page 1, Level 4 max is $4.20 commission for exclusive...?

If you click on my first image in my portfolio (last upload) you see the following:

Web 597x800 pixels 1 credit

Print 2496x3346 pixels 1 credit (over 8 mp)

Why are they both the same price then?

Wait a minute, maybe I just figured it out. Am I seeing that because I still have "Old Credits" available in my account? And someone with the new "2007 credits" would see it under the new fee schedule?

Stuart,

I think the price list will have the diference with resolutions just tomorrow, now DT implemented only the new levels as you can see in the last post of Achilles.

So, you have just WEB and Print, as posted in the About Images section.

Tomorrow you will have the Small Medium Large and Maximum prices implemented.

This is what the earnings report on that image says:

02/27/2007 13:35 Member download Level 1 1 credit (old) $0.50 maximum (RF)

So it was the large version (maximum) sold to someone with old credits. A 16MPix illustration for mere 50c... I will hate the subscription sales for 25c!!

Exactly! Thank you Afagundes.

The earnings you received so far are just from updating the levels. The new credits will also play a significant part in your royalties, increasing them even more!
