i downloaded the xara xtreme demo and will probably go ahead and buy it, it is a very neat program. just playing around i couldn't decide what size the images need to be to upload. i did a custom page 3000x3000 made an image saved it as a jpeg and then when i magnified it, it was jaggy at anything above 100. i though you could take vectors to any size without degrading. i am sure i didn't do something the right way. i have watched the beginner movies but they didn't explain about saving etc. i am going back to the xara forums but i am not sure they cover anything this basic.

While it is in your vector program, it can be sized without loss, but when
it is converted to a jpeg, you can only magnify the image.
I do not think images are reviewed over 100% anyway.

thanks, i have heard so much about vectors i wanted to try them but don't know very much about how to get them ready for stock. do most of you save them as eps files for sale but send the jpeg for review?

Denisebeverly:

Upload the JPEG file, go through the process of submission, at some point the system will ask you if you want to submit it in another format. As simple as that.

Hi

I have been using Xara for some time but have now purchased AI. previously I exported as adobe EPS, which I have fsince found out is not a true vector but a rasterised file, although I have had all of my illustrations accepted as additional formats. I dont think this is the best approach as AI 8 seems to be the standard.

Should I export the files from xara as AI or PDF. It seems that when I convert the AI file to EPS it is much smaller than the EPS produced from PDF, so I have been exporting as AI and then saving in illustrator as EPS 8.
I would appreciate advice as to which way to go.

Mike
