Like I wrote yesterday, I think that this is an interesting tool and nice opportunity. I am just wondering about the rating system though. I wonder what the use is as some people that don't have pictures online already are rated 4 stars (?) … I think that it installs kind of a competitive climate which is not necessary IMHO :) Thanks!

Only one question:
Do you recognize the need to never, ever place a banner or internet advertising with porn or lewd images in your site. I mean, my image (as a photographer) and the image of my images and the image of my models can't be in the same page that a xxx banner or pseudo erotica or sex toys or gambling or that kind of crap.
If you say: Yes, I recognize that image relation is a serious thing and I will be cautious about the advertising stuff that is in my site. That's all I need; your word. Call me idiotic but I belive in the word of a person. If you do that I will place my images.
And by the way a great GREAT idea and that's why you deserve my "Amazing Idea" oscar of the week.

@ Porhec: I will never place any banners on my site that would be pornographic in any way, or link to gambling sites or whatever. You got my word! I totally hate those banners/add and don't want to have any connection with it.
Though I have to say, there are Google Adwords on the website. But those links are related to what is on the website. And I don't think Google will add the above mentioned links on other people websites. If somehow (what i don't think ever will happen) any of those links will be on the Google Add, I will remove it directly.
@ Misscanon: Everyone starts with a rating of 2.50.
Everyone who visits the site can rate portfolios. But each portfolio only 1 time.
So if someone votes 5 stars for someone who doesn't has photos yet... thats nice of him/her :)
But that rating won't stay long when the portfolio stays with zero photos i guess :) |

You have a wonderful idea and site and I wish you great success. However,
I wish you would explain more thoroughly your rating system. If you say everyone
starts with a 2.5 rating, then why is mine only 2.00 when I have uploaded the
required 8 images? Who does the rating? When? How? On what basis is the rating
focused? Thanks for your response. |

^ Every photographer on the site can rate other photographers... You rate them basing on their 8 top photos ar basing on their potfolio... You can rate only once a photographer and I think that the rating system is really good...

That is correct Daniel, thanks for the explaination.
Minpin, you can also rate other photographers. Just visit someones profle and move your mouse over the rated stars. Clicking on the stars will add your vote to the rating. |

Sorry Daniel, I had to disable it for a day because of some maintenance.
It's all working now again.
For people who have a website, I also made it possible to put a banner on their site that links directly to their promotographer portfolio. This way you can invite your visitors to rate your photos to improve your rating.
Check 'account' for the banners.

Thanks Kuan. But I don't really understand what you mean with the random rating function. Because you need to see someones portfolio first before you can rate it. Else you don't know what you're rating.

How are you finding the traffic on the site is going so far?
It would be interesting to see how this develops, obviously in terms of increased sales but also as the links to DT carry your referral id, you should be able to get some idea of the effectiveness of the link.

Bit of a problem here I think - the Google Ads on the contact page and one on the home page are for well known rivals of Dreamstime!!!
