The closet is dark and cool and peaceful-but they let me out some days.....

The western thing was kinda a fluke when I first did it. I didn't know what I was doing and put together some things, it was accepted and actually sold. A little while back I looked back at my photos and did it again with the color intact. It sold, right away! I have some other things I may try, too. I was catering to some specific areas for about 4 months and now I'm going back to look around.

I haven't noticed many bike things selling but that may change. I will get into specific stuff, maybe.

The composition gremlin gets me a lot!!

I'm a proctologist for furniture! But I do more than bottoms, too. A friend of mine used to insist upon asking me if "I was fixing a lot of bottoms" when there were a lot of people around, so some of them thought I was a proctologist and ran when they saw me coming.

Hatman says I make baskets. I do wicker repairs, too.

Noonie, on your recent uploads how are you getting the white background? I struggle with that and haven't been able to get anything I am truly happy with.

Which Photoshop do you use? There are some good tutorials on the message boards.

currently photoshop 6.0 saving for cs3 and researching to find out the difference between the student version, regular version and the expanded version? (If anyone reading this knows please fill me in) Saw on message boards student version is somewhat cheaper when bought through college bookstore which I could do. I have been trying some different methods from the blogs and tutorials but still don't quite get the white I think I want-- however I may not even quite know what I want so that could be the problem - I do know my photos just don't seem white and "real" to me when I am done....

Well, since I just got CS3 I can tell you that saving for it isn't the problem---learning it is! Whew--I would like to have a teacher to sit with me and make me do it until I got it all. I'm in and out with other jobs so it's a long process. I don't know the difference, except that expanded is really expensive and has stuff I would never get the hang of, probably.

I would like to do some more types of things and like you, it looks inadequate to me compared to what the pros on here do!! They just have to use my attempts as "how not to use Photoshop" ads. LOL

SOOOOO pitiful-------

As soon as you learn CS3, CS4 will be out and change everything on you.

I have picked up some student versions of other software, and haven't noticed a difference on those programs. MS Office I believe it was missing onve of the programs that the full version had, but a part that I could live without. Someone at the college may be able to tell you. I have also seen the student versions at Target and Wallmart so you could buy them for High school students or other teachers.

Glad to see this thread has cleaned up,

Well now I have cs3. I seem to have extra time on my hands due to the slowness of the real estate market so going to jump into learning this new photoshop and growing my portfolio. I remember something in this thread about truffles, chocolates and whips - all of which I have, strangely enough, so maybe those on white background??? (to clarifhy-I have a slight taste for fine chocolate and have horses-I know where the minds head to on this thread)!!!

Oh, my, I've been away from here too long---we do need to get back to the basics.

The truffles and whips look fine on white background, I should know since I have white sheets!!!

How is the learning going??? Better than the real estate market, I hope. I strangely enough live in an area where million-plus dollar homes sell but the lower end is still slow. So I guess it will be a while longer for us regular people.

The good thing about the upgrade, Jim, is that we learners can now follow the tutorials. I tried some with other programs and it just didn't work. So if a cs25 comes out we will just have to ask them to explain DOWN to the 3!!!
