The assignment is an exciting competition to enter. It generates creativity and gives exposure… I have entered many of these in the past excited to have been accepted and for the exposure.. and will probably continue to do so. I do have a difficult time with the “trolling” for votes I saw so blatant in this particular Country contest. The trolling for votes and apparent success of the trolling is not what I consider a truly validating contest. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to wonder and figure out why some obviously dynamite images are voted so low. Even more disheartening are the images getting less than a 3. I can’t imagine voting any image a 1 star to drag the vote average down . When you enter this contest and get approved by the professionals at Dreamstime… this can’t merit a one star!!!!Maybe the contest should be based on a top five vote. Say for instance a contributor can vote for only 5 images where 5 is their most favorite then 4 then 3 and so on. This would not smash the heart of the contributor with a one star dragging their average down to a heart crushing 2…. There would be no points per se… only images with a most favorite by the most users. Just thinking on how to bring the positive aspects back to this contest. Not sure how the backend would figure this out mathematically but hey just a suggestion!
