Well, since I just got CS3 I can tell you that saving for it isn't the problem---learning it is! Whew--I would like to have a teacher to sit with me and make me do it until I got it all. I'm in and out with other jobs so it's a long process. I don't know the difference, except that expanded is really expensive and has stuff I would never get the hang of, probably. I would like to do some more types of things and like you, it looks inadequate to me compared to what the pros on here do!! They just have to use my attempts as "how not to use Photoshop" ads.
