In Halden, there are many old houses, most of the houses are from after 1826 when a major fire put almost the entire city desolate. The majority of houses that were rebuilt are wooden houses. The house on the picture is from an old residential area of Halden called Damhaug and built in wood. The houses are generally well maintained, but these are dilapidated. Halden municipality, Østfold
