The iron Ponte Dona Maria Pia in the portuguese town of Oporto was built by Eiffel in 1876-77. It is a single decker bridge for carrying the rail line out of Campanha station to Gaia. At the background the white Ponte San Joao, a modern railway bridge (1991). It replaced the Dona Maria Pia bridge.
