Description:
Picoides pubescens medianus - A Downy Woodpecker, similar to a Hairy Woodpecker, Spring Manitoba. A suet feeder. Eats insects on trees. This is a female, the males have red on the crest of their heads. Resident from Alaska across Canada and south throughout the U.S. except in the southwest. Preferred habitats include woodlands, parks, and gardens.
