Bee on yellow dahlia

Dahlias were first discovered in the mountains of Mexico in the 16th century by a Spanish expedition and were later named in honor of Andreas Dahl, a Swedish botanist, because of his interest in the plant. Due to their beautiful colors, dahlia flowers attract many insects, especially bees.
