Two devastating earthquakes on 13 June 2011 have caused thousands of tons of liquefied sand to be dumped on the streets and in the homes and gardens of Christchurch. For the third time in less than a year residents have been forced to remove this sand onto the streets where city council excavators and trucks can collect and dump it.
