Jerking caterpillar

This is the larval form of a member of a butterfly. caterpillars are considered pests in agriculture. most caterpillars have tubular and segmented bodies. this caterpillar looks bright and beautiful but possesses stinging hairs on contact causing pain something like a needle prick on the skin. it moves jerky as it tries to escape from the rain.
