Accordingly it can be quite confusing if the same images (with logos and trademarks removed and not removed) are uploaded to the editorial and non editorial sections. Designers may mistakenly download the editorial images for use in non-editorial applications and that can cause problems. In summary, although it is not forbidden, one should not be looking for problems by uploading the same images to both sections. Easily understood. And one more thing. I did just that, ie. removed the logos and trademarks and submitted the photos. These were also approved. Now I have 5 images that are the same (except for the logos and trademarks) under both the editorial categories and non-editorial categories. I realised that this may not be right and have just emailed Admin for clarification. I should receive a reply very soon but thought that I should post this issue on this forum for everyone's benefit. I will keep you posted on Admin's reply unless they respond to this thread here. But I will gladly disable whichever photos that they want me to disable. I do have a number of images of temple, Buddha and Taoist deities in my portfolio but rarely provide details as to what Buddha image it is as I lack the information to start with. Buddhism, Shintoism, and Taoism are not something that I am very familiar with but it does not prevent me from taking photographs. Now as to the location of the subject matter, that is a different story altogether. There have been complaints elsewhere on Dreamstime's forums about some people copying keywords, but there are at times, an even bigger problem in the form of what I would call "taggers". These are people who "tag-along" your images. Take some photograhs of a Chinese deity in some obscure temple today and get it onto Dreamstime, Soon enough, you will see the "taggers" getting very similar images onto Dreamstime too, if you direct them to the location! At least that is a problem I face. Some may be pure coincidence. And you can't prevent people from taking the same images. So I don't provide location details on purpose. If buyers need location details or more details about the image (to the extent that I know of), I will gladly provide it if they were to message me through the facility provided by Dreamstime. posted in From an Editor -- Please give me more info!
