A natural pyramid near Zone, Lombardy, Italy, Europe.
The pyramid is formed by a rare erosion phenomenon in partly cemented clay-gravel deposits, including big rocks of petrified sediments.
The rainwater rapidly washes away the clay matrix of the deposits from the mountain slopes, isolating the rock which is left to protect the material below like an umbrella.
