August 28th 2011.England played Belgium in the decider to determine which country would take home the bronze medal. England went into the lead fairly early , but to make things more exciting Belgium equalised shortly before the fulltime horn. For the first time tin the tournament the game went into extra time with 7.5 minutes each way. To make things more interested the golden goal rule also applied which meant that as soon as a goal is scored the match ends and the scoring team ist the winner. Early in the first 7.5 minutes England scored a golden goal , which was then contested by Belgium. The Video Umpire was consulted, seconds later England exploded as the referee signalled goal.
