Peka cooking is a traditional Croatian gourmet food way of preparing food such as lamb, veil, turkey, calamari, octopus, etc. with potatoes and vegatables.
The peka is a cast iron bell-shaped pot with a lid, and it forms an outdoor oven. When the fire makes the coal hot enough, the coal is shoveled on top and around the peka pot. Because it is covered with charcoal, the peka acts like a convection oven, perfect for slow cooking.
