Replica of the Porsche Type 22 in the Porsche museum in Stuttgart, South-Germany.
Citation from the museum's information panel:
In March 1933, Auto Union commissioned a Grand Prix racing car to be designed and developed for the 750 kg racing formula applicable as for 1934.
With its mid-engine layout and its sixteen-cylinder compressor engine, Porsche set new technical standards of excellence. Driven by motor racing legends such as Hans Stuck, Bernd Rosemeyer and Achille Varzi, the Auto Union Pracing car achieved no fewer than 30 Grand Prix victories and 15 world records between 1934 and 1937.
