Hi Pixbox, thank you for your comment. The image was done using Bryce, I haven't tried rendering it in another program, but will certainly consider it. It took so long because the background effect was created using volumetric clouds. I tend to render the images at a really high resolution because my day to day job is creating canvas prints on a large scale. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to 3D artwork and only really create abstract images that can be used in decorative way on canvas. I would love to spend more time exploring other 3D packages. I have however, just downloaded Carrara 6 on a 30 day free trial to see if I can get my head around it. Having said that, finding the time to play is a bit of a problem and the 30 days is rapidly running out. Sue posted in What is your longest rendering time?
