For most of us, spring is already in the air calling us outdoors to enjoy nature. In addition to the usual blooming trees and warm weather, we want this season to bring thoughts of renewal and serious reflection on how our life and actions influence the environment. Our recommendation for this year's spring is to go green and get involved in nature conservation efforts starting with your assignment contributions. Although a similar assignment was done 3 years ago, we want a re-discussion of environmental matters centering around action and acting.
We want images that show your direct involvement in ecological issues: how you and other people act or envision to act in order to help nature. Show friends planting in a deforested area, your family cleaning the public park, imagine a tree growing in the desert, photograph biologists helping or protecting endangered species, capture people who use and promote alternative power sources.
We advise you to be cautious about submitting cliche images unless they propose new approaches to ecological matters. We are looking for a more analytic, personal perspective rather than images of the usual globe, leaf or oil pump. Your images must not tell about problems but rather show how these get solved and how you or other people contribute to get them solved.
As prize, we thought of offering something special and strictly related to the assignment theme. Hence, the winner gets to act directly and beneficially while playing an active role in nature conservation efforts. A $300 donation will be made in his/her name to the Adopt an Acre / A Reef program at The Center for Ecosystem Survival. This sum may save 6 acres of forest or reef. Dreamstime T-shirts will be offered to all three "medalists".
Dreamstime has no direct connection to the above mentioned organization - we have selected them randomly to receive the donation.

I have pictures of public initiative of cleaning filthy dirty beaches. This involved high school students + an international NGO Rotary International.
Since a MR is not possible, It will be good if editorial images are permitted for this assignment. |

I love this assignment idea and what you are doing as the prize for the winner. This is my type of assignment but too bad I recently had foot surgery so I can not go out and shoot any pictures in the near future but I would like to wish everyone who enters this assignment Good Luck. Looking forward to seeing all the pictures that everyone comes up with for this assignment. |

Hi everyone,
I seem to recall last time when I uploaded an assignment file that when it was pending it indicates that it was for an "Assignment". Can anyone confirm this?
The reason why I ask is that I just tried uploading an assignment file through the Assignment tab, but it doesn't indicate in my "pending files" that it's for an assignment. Just wondering.
