We implemented a new feature, the color search.

Every picture has up to three dominant colors, that are now displayed on the image page, right below the keywords. Using this feature, you can search the database for pictures that have the same predominant color like the picture you selected.

Nice!

I never figured out the 'old' way of color search, but this is very simple to use!

It might be usefull for buyers to be able to search for a new keyword within that selection. Now, when I check that box (within results) I just get the total new search. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

But I think it's a very useful feature!

Nice feature, not just few colors but full spectra :)

It will be very useful for designers.

Also I think it may help some images with not so good keywording.

I am a bit confused.

I was checking on a medical related picture. The color profile of this picture showed two colors - black / white.

I did click on white, and expected that it will show more of medical pictures with prominent white component.

What it showed was - a completely unrelated mixture of lot of picture. There was a picture of a dog, computer, and what not. All had one thing common - they had all high number of downloads.

But, what would I do with them ???

It would have been great, if I am offered picture of the type, what I was originally looking at.

If I have done any thing wrong, I dont know.

Would be great if other contributors would check on this, and report.

Interesting. When you click on a portion of the Dominant Color bar you are taken to images with similar colors. Right now it's just a color bar, will there be text below this bar to tell new buyers that it is clickable? Not everyone reads the announcements or the forums.

Easy to use... keep the features coming :)

It would be nice if once you clicked on the color bar it kept those results when using the search 'within results' option. Then you could click the color, and then do a keyword search within those color results (to achieve what Abpics is talking about).

Hmm, I didn't find that anybody mentioned that there is not only dominant colors under the keywords of image, there is also an option on advanced search/image properties which works well in combination with keywords and everything else (Primary color checkbox and percent).

Was that option available before and I just didn't notice it?

Maybe it is a -feature- but the dominant isn't the subject color and it doesn't show the useful colors.

So i would say feature instead of [cool feature] it needs to be tweaked.
