Why are uploads restricted to, in my case, 5 per day / Is it lack of staff, lack of computer data storage, an effort to improve image quality submitted ? How long will this restriction last ? Have I missed the explanation perhaps posted somewhere I haven't looked yet ? I notice a broad slowing down or at least it seems so. Any DT member's answers will be appreciated. Davidwatmough. |

On October 26, 2009 the upload limit was temporarily decreased to 50 files per day (see notice at far right on Welcome page). This happens periodically when things get busy. Right now I believe they are cleaning the database of old images, reviewing many bad keyword reports and addressing some copyright issues on older images (as well as adding new features to the site). They're just busy and it is easier and fairer to restrict uploads using percentages rather than specific numbers.
Per the FAQs - Contributors
How many images can I upload in a single day?
There is a limit to the number of images submitted per day.
• Users with an approval percentage higher than 80% can upload the maximum amount of images daily . This applies for the first 50 submissions if you're a new photographer.
• Users with an approval percentage of between 50-80% can upload the fifth part of the maximum amount of images daily.
• Users with an approval percentage of between 30-50% can upload the tenth part of the maximum amount of images daily.
• Users with an approval percentage of between 0-30% can upload the 30th part of the maximum amount of images daily.
