Jdanne.....thank you for your comments. I must tell you that there is no secret here. I get out at first light to shoot in the early morning and also the late afternoon light. Yes the most important thing is the glass. I have found that the quality of my photos has really increased dramatically since going to the canon 500mm. Also critical is to have a steady platform for you camera. I use a manfrotto tripod with a wimberley II head and for the car just a bean bag. Where I can I use a remote shutter release to ensure further stability. Other than that is studying many photographs of other great photographers and seeing whta worked for them O yes and the more you shoot a specific type of subject the more you learn about the behaviours to allow you to anticipate a possible shot. lol...thnx Adeliepenguin. I will have another 20 or so up in the next few days. Its all so exciting to share my new pics. In a weeks time I am going into the Kalahari for 8 days and should have many many pics after that. Hopefully of the big cats and many raptors. |
