I previously saw a thread which stated that photographers with the following number of pics :

30-50 top quality images $10-$30 a month avg

50-100 top quality images $40-$75 a month avg

500 top quality images $200-$350 a month avg

1000 top quality images $400-$750 a month avg

5000 top quality images $1000-$3000 a month avg

Could expect the above earnings a month, is this true? Can someone from their own experience enlighten me about this?

Those are reasonable expectations for earnings from DT alone

i've got 100 images in a moment. unfortunately, i expect i will not have a lot of time to take photos as i have had before, so it's an opportunity to measure "class 100" :( keep in touch, i'll try to reach "class 200" as soon as possible :)

i have 900 images and probably only 200 of them would be may be considered top quality.. so if i average them all out perhaps it 900 mixed quality images comes to something like 300-400 top quality images.. and i make from DT consistently between $120-150 a month... i know photographers here which make the same ammount with only 300 photos in their entire portfolio.. it all depends on the quality and sellability...

after a year experiencing this great business opportunity i realized that it is much better to spend 2 hours on a 5 top notch quality images than spend 1 hour on 50 less than good quality images..

hope that helps...

I have 382 photos here and so far I have made $331 since the beginning of the year. Business is really picking up though. I hope to make at least $7.00 a day from now on. Adding photos is getting tougher since DT has many photos now and some catagories are full. Maybe that $7.00 a day could be $70.00 a day in the future!

I have currently 360 Images on DT. I average $2 per day on DT and $10 across the board per day. I have 345 sales from August (when i started uploading). Standing on $180 so far. I know Forgiss is running almost on something like $80+ per day. The potential is there to earn a good income. The key is taking the time and putting up quality images. I started shooting for stock and it is going much better. Learned a lot from guys like Forgiss.

Shooting with a purpose helped me.. The figure I'm looking at is about 7000 images to give a constante income. You will have to keep shooting to keep up with the trent. Must say that DT is much stricter on their approvals. Been hitting me hard and spoiling my acceptance ratio!

Enjoy and keep shooting!

Hey Ice!

$80 per day?! what are you doing with the rest of my money?!?!?

Actually, I am doing about $45-$55 per day (weekdays) and about $20-$30 per day on Weekends... so it averages out...

It all depends on you though... your subject matter, your shooting style, your editing, your keywording... it all has an effect...

I have about 30% less images than Andresr, but he makes more than three times as much as I do in any given month.

It's just one of those things...

I've only made $5 in my first month. LOL.

Hope that improves!

Most of my submitted images so far have been scanned stock images from a few years ago, but I've just started shooting again; in digital.

Here's a example of what I'm trying (I know people sell best, but I still love abstracts):

So far I've got $3 of downloads from a 13 image portfolio. I think DT is great!!

To be fair, the images I've put up so far are pretty lame in the grand scheme of things, but now that I've got the wife excited about being a real 'model' I'm hoping to add to the people-shot quota soon!

I upload to several websites - 400 images - $300/month total.

I have 300 images here and made $85 last month.

Those numbers are growing obviously.

Unfortunately I've been absent from the "scene" for 2 months and haven't been able to upload anymore images. I only wish I had the time to upload as many as I'd like to.

There is only one recipe: UPLOADING! The more the better - and, obviously maintain or rise the quality and everything will be just fine ;-). I can't wait to have 5000 images in my DT portfolio...

Well, I don't know about the good quality pics, but I have added my own earnings as it has grown over the last few months to relate to the ones you have listed... keep in mind, subject matter also makes quite a difference:

30-50 top quality images $10-$30 a month avg

50-100 top quality images $40-$75 a month avg - $33

500 top quality images $200-$350 a month avg - $247

1000 top quality images $400-$750 a month avg - $634

5000 top quality images $1000-$3000 a month avg - $ wish I knew

I now have about 1400 images online and do about $1050 per month

hope this motivates, and not demotivates :D

The problem is: how do you know that you have top quality photos? ;-)

I am selling images that I would never imagine could be sold... but I do not consider them top quality images. Rules in stock images market are quite strange, but if you do understand them you can find the way to get money. I have uploaded 531 images and I earn every month about 50 $. I am very happy with it!

If money is the goal then do assignments 25$ per image. I do some vector drawing and I am happy with earnings 125$/ month= 5 drawings+ 2 not selected. If I only had the time to do some more.

I wish that I finally learn how to use my camera it seems easier then drawing.
