There must be something wrong..

Lunfengzhe
Hi,

I got one confusion about my profile, nearly two month I start in DT and with 58 upload, but no single download at all. I keep on uploading and creating but, I also in other agency and the pictures sells well or normally, but each site had several sells.

everyday I must logo and to see how things going on here, but everyday is the same, what I got are useless views. Actually i like dt most, that's why i am very happy to see each picture was selected and uploaded here. But no reward at all.

This must be something wrong here... I just wonder, or it's just very hard for people to start here?

Best regards

I would not and do not worry.
Almost the same is happening to me.

But, after year with uploading, I think, we will both have different experience.

It is a game isn't it.
After all, look your starting shots and compare it with new.

At least you have personal progress and personal satisfaction.

Don't worry... Sales will come. Just keep on uploading pictures. But in summertime many of the buyers are also enjoying their vacations. So be patient ;-)

Nothing wrong, just be patient and the sales will come.

But please note that only getting photos accepted is not enough. The competition is high, we now have 138.521 photographers, you have to step up from the crowd with your photos, or to fit the most popular trends in stock photography.

Also, take your time and read our forum on a daily basis, you will find lots of informations on how to be successful in this business.

I see your portfolio and it is all right, pictures are good and I don't understand why are you not selling. I can only tell you be patient ans wait for the first sale. It is the more difficult but the best one. After that, all will turn normal.
Welcome and good luck here.

Hi Dudau,

Thanks for your suggestion.
I know you are right, good concept is also what I am searching for after I join DT. but just have a confusion why some pictures has good sell in some other place, I may think those pictures of mine would have a need from some customers (although it is so small so far :)), it maybe for me to wait a longer time to achieve, anyway, i will upload with a great passion.

Best regards

Now I will write something different than my friends. Most of your works (except letters and flags, which are already covered by many illustrators) are not totally stock oriented, but more like travel photography. Travel photography is a good genre and you can get lots of sales but you need lots of shots from all around the world. You will need more time, more effort and more shots to get sales, if you keep shooting in this genre.

Going exclusive can help in getting more exposure and credit sales. It's worth considering :)

Hi Parkinsonsniper,

Thanks for your advice!
You are right, the motivation I start to sell picture online is that I notice I have a great amount of travel shooting in my computer and I will make it valuable at first time. But now, astually I am pay more thinking and attension on the concept and main purpose of my new pictures, although it hard for me now, but i will try a lot in different way. that's worth to try.

Best regards

Took me almost 5 months before I started seeing sales, then it slowly picks up. Everyone is different, and there are so many factors its impossible to predict. Just be patient and I'm sure sales will come, although I know that's easier said than done. Good luck!!
