Hi Happy New Year everyone, i am interested to know, those people that use the RF (no keyword) option which you are charged $0.6 per image and the Keymasters do the keywording for you, have those images produced more sales because they have better selling keywords, than perhaps images that you have keyworded yourself. Hope this makes sense, mant thanks Denise

That would be hard to measure since you would have to compare sales of an image that you chose the keywords for against that same image with words chosen by a keymaster. If you could have 2 of the same images in your portfolio you would then have to determine what words were searched with when the image that sold was purchased. I'm guessing that the important words would be in both pics.

The saleability of an image is more than the sum of its keywords and the most perfectly keyworded image will not sell if there is one better (in the eyes of the buyer). The only thing a keymaster might have insight into is how to word an image in a way to get it to show up closer to the front of the pack in the relevance category since relevance is based on how the title, description and keywords relate.

Search algorithms are set by a program that works with words (and other criteria set by management like colors). Image searches place a priority on simple information. Search engines are computers, not human.

Chances are that the contributors using this service are non-english speaking and need help in that regard. Or someone who was uploading so many images they had no time to keyword. Some people using this service have gotten upset because a keymaster will only use as many words as are necessary to describe the photo and skip all the fluff. Deciding what is fluff is the hard part so a keymaster might come in handy there. Too much fluff dilutes search placement.

Perhaps those using this service will chime in but if they are using it because they don't speak english they probably don't read the forums. Bottom line, give it a try on one or two images and see if you like the results. Talk about words - I usually use too many in my replies but I like to hear myself talk.

With regards to paying for your images to be re-keyworded, is the image re-titled, re-categorised as well to help sales?

Yes, the keywords, the title, the categories & description will be done by the Keymasters.

It would be very interesting to see a comparison between two identical or very similar images, one keyworded by the contributor & the other by the keymasters programme. There are instances of live pics being duplicated on DT - the same contributor has submitted the same image twice & it's been approved twice (a couple of duplicates have been submitted by a different contributor or maybe the same contributor with two different user name accounts)....perhaps we should encourage one of those duplicate contributors to submit one image to the keymasters!

Thanks Melstone for the info. I'm going to get a few of my similar images re-keyworded to see if this makes a difference to exposure and sales.

Hi folks, taking advantage of the subject, I have some doubts regarding keywording/keymasters.

A) we are charged $0.60 per image and I wonder...
1. how much a Keymasters earns as commission per image?
2. How to become a Keymaster. Where to apply? A friend of mine lost his job and who knows it would help him. Actually not sure if the money earned per hour by keywording would be considerable a good amount for living to him. ;0)

Another doubts regarding using the Keymasters.

B) The image wasn't approved yet, it goes to Keymaster before approved or after approved? I mean, Do I take a risk to pay $0.60 and get the image rejected or the goes to Keymaster only after be approved?

C) How is $0.60 paid? I mean, is it...
1. deducted from our balance right away;
2. deducted from our balance when the image is sold;
3. Need to pay right away via credit card or Paypal or other?
4. Other (how?)

Thanks.

@Lucato; no I don't think he can make a living with just keywording. 0,60 is paid to your balance and you can withdraw it when you reach 100$.

I don't know if keywording helps or not, on the other hand Red have a nice point about the statistical conflict. There are many things effecting the sales volume...

@Lucato: I will try to clarify some of the points you raised:

A) we are charged $0.60 per image and I wonder...
1. how much a Keymasters earns as commission per image?

The Keymaster gets the entire sum you pay to have your images keymastered - $0.60 for each image. We do not keep any commission for this service, we host and monitor it for free.

How to become a Keymaster. Where to apply? A friend of mine lost his job and who knows it would help him. Actually not sure if the money earned per hour by keywording would be considerable a good amount for living to him.

Simply send a message to support, a resume and perhaps a cover letter to apply for the job. We prefer working with native speakers but non-natives are also accepted if they meet the requirements.

;0)Another doubts regarding using the Keymasters.B) The image wasn`t approved yet, it goes to Keymaster before approved or after approved? I mean, Do I take a risk to pay $0.60 and get the image rejected or the goes to Keymaster only after be approved

If you select the RF (no keywords) option for your submissions, the money is deducted immediately but will go to the keymaster only after the image is reviewed, approved and keyworded. If the image gets refused, the money is automatically refunded to your account.

How is $0.60 paid? I mean, is it...1. deducted from our balance right away;2. deducted from our balance when the image is sold; 3. Need to pay right away via credit card or Paypal or other?4. Other (how?)Thanks.

I believe i already answered 1 and 2.
3. The money is deducted from your earnings balance so you need to have earnings in your account to submit images via the keymaster program. We do not deduct the money from your paypal account or credit card.
