clipping path

If I include a clipping path in a JPG, will it be included in all image sizes or only in the maximum size image?

I've heard that clipping paths are only included in the original size but I haven't found any official information about clipping paths here on dt.

Search with keywords "clipping path" shows a lot of photos with descriptions like "isolated with clipping path" but no mention about that it would be included only in maximum size.

I've never heard this topic discussed on the forum. My guess is that it is included in all sizes because the path resizes with the image. Maybe an admin will chime in and confirm.

The clipping path remains available only for the original size of the image (the one you submit) but it can not be generated for the other sizes (larger or bigger).

Seriously! Wow, I never knew that. I'm gonna go with PNGs with transparent backgrounds for all isolated subject from this point forward. Thanks for the reply, Nikitu.

This was discussed in the past and we were told that it would be looked into.

Thankyou Nikitu.

So photos supplied as JPG only and with description "clipping path included" are misleading, don't you think? There's thousands photos like that.

Maybe dt could put in the FAQ-section a short tutorial what is the best practise to include a clipping path?
