How searchable are words in the title of an image?

Mike2focus
If a word is in the title of an image, but that same word is not in it's keywords or description, can someone find your image by searching for the word that is only in the title?

I did a test on this and found the results to show that the answer is NO, but the image has only been online for about six weeks. Maybe it takes more time for indexing for this type of search?

Anyone have an answer to this question?

Thanks!

I think the description count´s more. I don´t see title so important . I think title is the artist vision. The description have to be accurate to the image, so, i think agencies let the the title to our taste but description counts... Just my idea !

I just tried searching one of my newer images which had in the title, description the same keywords and it did not come up. So I think maybe the images has to be on-line for a while. Not sure how long an image has to be up before it shows in searches.

I think six weeks should be about right for indexing to take place. As far as I have understood it is the description and key wording that is important. Have a look at some of the big guys on here. They have weird titles but key wording and description is perfect.

Well. Here's something I'd like to write and leave it on you to figure out:

Copy and paste the exact title of your image in the search box and hit search.

I dont know about DT search engine, but the title shows in the URL of the image so it is important for somebody to find it from outside DT like google, yahoo, etc.

I make sure that the descriptive words from my titles are always in my keywords as well just to be on the safe side

I tried searching for my image with the exact title, but it didn't come up in the search results. Funny thing is, none of the words in the title were in my keywords! So I added the title words to my keywords today, because if I searched for any of the keywords the image did come up :-)

I do not know the answer but I know perfectly well that 'If a word is in the title of an image, but that same word is not in it`s keywords or description' it indicates EXTREMELY BAD keywording which will limit chances for the image to be found by buyers ... :)

That was what I was about to say. Either you have a completely irrelevant title or your keywording is not good . The title, description and keywords should all contain the words that best describe your image.
Ive just taken a quick look at your latest images and your titles are good but every one of those words should also be in the keywords.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I need to go back and take a hard look at my keywording.
