I understand and agree with what you are saying. Having recently bought a 10-20mm zoom to get the wide angle and depth of field I have been missing since my old Nikon FM, I have now just bought a fixed 40mm macro, which on my DX digital should fairly well equate to my old 'standard' lens on 35mm. No uploads from this lens as yet, but I am feeling good about using it rather than my standard zoom. Hope the experience goes well for you also and you get a large number of quality images in your portfolio, and also that you get to enjoy taking them that bit more.

Thanks Suyerry! Neil, I think you will be surprised how universal one single fixed lens is - especially when it's a macro lens - again, I'm not against zoom lenses :)

Hi Martin. Are you THE Martin from the NZvillage.com community? I've been looking for him, because of an urgent need of experience-exchange ;) I'm the Annett with the 4 (now 5) children, and our emigration was crashed by the house buyers..., unfortunately. It would be VERY nice to hear from you. CU, bye, Annett

Yes, I'm still in love with down under and trying to immigrate. It would be pretty interesting, to have some e-mail chat with you ;) I have a few questions about your way to OZ and maybe my way... Would you contact me please? a.seidd@rocketmail.com
