Nice choice!

I would love an L series lens, I have been looking at them for ages, but im waiting for the new year. :)

I would probably finish of my studio lighting with a few softboxes, snoots etc, plus maybe a background support, and a few backgrounds.

I know whoever wins is going to have a lot of fun spending it

It would be nice to win.

I want to get into shooting portraits and large concept shots, so I would invest in better lighting, snoots, softboxes, etc.

Good Luck to Everyone.

Mel, if you sell the Sony and add the prize you could do an upgrade to a new camera, I think.

I think 500.00 is too high for the Sony F717. It goes for around 550.00 new.

A used Sony F717 could probably fetch between 300.00 and 450.00. Unless you add accessories with it.

I too have a F717, I was looking to trade it in or sell it and I was told my best bet would be to try and sell it on ebay. I contacted several camera dealers and they offered me 250.00.

I hope this helps.

well the completed items on a good listing for second hand f717 was $350- $500, second hand ones do generally have the memory card, bag, and a few bits which helps the price, and they were "as new, no scratches"

OUCH!!! That's about what I paid for my entire Canon system. I didn't know the 717 cost that much.

Am I the only one here thinking about going somewhere nice and drinking as many glasses of champagne as my system can handle??

Oh, forgot to mention, for every champagne that I drink I will make a toast for Dreams and then follow an old greek custom and break all the glasses :)

Just kidding... I'd probably add the money to my savings for the MarkII :(

Hehe, Dana, this is why the prize will be a gift certificate and not the cash. To avoid throwing money on one bottle of good champagne. :)

I for one can't participate in this contest but at least I will be able to enjoy the results of the equipment bought by the winner...
