I know I don't have a big portfolio like others do, but I was hoping that you would look at what I have so far and let me know what you think...you can be brutally honest, I'm a big boy ;-)

Hi Puentes i like the textures you have.

Very cool I used to do video work and some of those might also be of some use as static bg for text overlay in video CG.

Also to Mckown i only had one image last you checked if you see this post please check my portfolio now as i have a few more images not just a blue bottle :-) and would like to know what you think so far?

And to any others as well i would like to also hear what you think...

Thanks Randy! I received the 'ancient warrior statue' as an anniversary present and took a few pics of it, I just love oriental stuff......I have been taking a lot of pics with my F828 around Miami, but unfortunately the shots suffer from a little bit of noise and would need to be touched up, so for the time being I have decided to work on illustrations until I have a little more time to play with my images :)

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone!

Clickshots, I was thinking of using Adobe After Effects to animate a couple of these, but I really haven't had time to play with it. Maybe DT can add a video section, I think that would be cool.

Thanks Wayne, I'll tell you the truth, with the last couple of them, I sat in front of the computer completely blank and I came up with quite a few nice designs.....just keep trying because it seems that the more I do it, the better they get, and for now is the only way I can compete with you guys :)

Yes Puentes animated BG is all the rage in video just look at how a small section is used on the news as a BG for lower thirds. when i saw your work I said wow this is like some of the work I did for our commercial production and thats why it hit me as textures like this are widely accepted and used in the industry, as far as an animated section that im not so sure of as the files would not be just a simple JPG however as static BG they are great and can be used, I would love to upload some of my stuff as well but it contains alpha chanel data and is TGA format.

I like your sugestion and maybe that can be an option on this site maybe not the animated type but a section for TV production graphics would be cool as hell and I do not think that any other site offers these files for download.

I have one converted to JPG lower not a BG if you would like to see one that i made some time ago.

The image shows a dummy reporter image shown under the overlay to show how the graphic is used and what part would be tranparent CG and where text would be placed.

I know they exist on production CDs and are usualy very expensive I wouldnot think we would be cheapining the industry as long as they were not to inexpensive

and the best thing of all is you could buy just one instead of a whole CD so a video designer might be able to find the BG he needs on the fly and at a reasonable cost.

Maybe they could be sold at $5 an image which for the TV production industry would be a steal this would be for top quality images and would then also allow the creator of the image to make a nice few extra dollars.

Static TGA format althogh awsome quality is not a large file so thats another cool thing as the images for video do not need to be very large as with print. what do others think about this idea this may be untapped.

I would like to hear if this could be an option and what the others here think about a section just for the video production designers and editors.

I know this is a stock photo site so it would realy need to be a seperate part of the site but becouse textures are offered here it may be a very cool and profitable

idea to look into.

Nice work on that background Clickshots. I have never really worked with After Effects but I'll start playing with it, and I am game if DT wants to open a video or a new section where we can post this type of work.

BTW would you have any idea as to what resolution, etc I should be working on for the video series, with HDTV and all? I would hate to start creating stuff that would become obsolete in a few years.

Glad you like the Lower third the orig is a TGA with alpha channel transparency.

ya maybe DT will like the idea if its possable.

I did that a few years ago and we were using dv format with nonlinear editing, all graphics were made at 720x480 with video safe area taken into account.

The size depends partially on the format I did a dvd graphic bg for childrens menu and that needed to be at 720x486 for the facility I made it for.

heres some aspect Ratios

NTSC (4 X 3)

Initial Canvas Size: 720/540

Final resize and save: 720/480

NTSC (16 X 9)

Initial Canvas Size: 853/480

Final resize and save: 720/480

That may help

Puentes, my opinion is that you should try to limit the information such as digits and letters. They create the impression of a finished design or a non generic shot. The illustrations ar every good, not easy to be created while a designer can easily insert the squares and numbers.

Thanks Achilles! I am trying to accomplish something similar to the Infinity series of a well known company. I do make PSD available as my profile states for users that may have a problem with some of the writing. I know you guys are the experts, but I've had a lot of success with this series and with the ones that are already online. 22 for 22 downloads, but I'll try to eliminate the text on future versions for DT.

I was sharing my experience as a designer. It would be a huge time consuming job to remove the text. I know some designers may be to lazy to add their own text :)

You could see how is the popularity after you upload a few "raw" ones...

BTW Achilles how about offering the PSDs for a little extra? say $10 a piece. It would still be a bargain compared to the big boys :)
