Is an image still exclusive if I have it for sale only on an art community website as a print, such as DeviantArt? A High-res virtual copy is not available there, and only a small-res with a watermark for the preview. It is not available at any other stock agencies. |

Only if for sale, that is. You can show off your work at community sites like DeviantArt and Flickr. But watermark them properly and with the note 'all rights reserved'.
I do it for my exclusives on DT, on Flickr with a clear link back to the DT sales page.
It's a nice way of self-promo. You can't expect for DT to do all the work ;-).
Flickr doesn't allow commercial stuff, but you can do it in a gentle way, like full size available here with a link to the DT sales page in the HREF tag. |

So for instance I have a deviantart account with my pictures up already, with my own watermark, not for sale. Is ok? Good idea to put a link to dreamstime in the description. I have some editing to do after they are accepted :)

Does that also apply if you are selling them through your own website?
Edit:
Also since I am exclusive, am I even allowed to sell any images on my website. I thought that was ok, but now I'm not so sure. |

As exclusive contributor, you can still sell content on your own website or directly to clients. Please ensure that you do not sell images online or otherwise with any other similar agency while being exclusive. |

Interesting topic, and not to detract from the OP's question, but I had a quick one myself.
As a freelance photographer, a few hard copy publications have my images for use as stock. These are only magazines., Am I still alllowed to use those same images as Exclusives here on Dreamstime?
Just curious.

The exclusivity only pertains to the fact that the images are only available here for purchase and not other stock sites. If you have not sold any rights on those images I do believe you can upload as exclusive. Maybe we can get confirmation on this from admin? |

No, if you are exclusive you can sell any image from your own website directly to a customer as long as no other agency is involved in processing payment (this not only includes other microstock sites but sites such as smugmug, cafepress, deviantart, or something similar). This has been confirmed many times in the past. Just do a search in the forums on exclusive+website. |
