New Assignment: Time

It's time to get your cameras ready for a new assignment and it's time to come up with unique ideas on how to capture time: time passing, time concepts, time metaphors, frozen time, past, present and future, time flies.

Images that denote the passing of time are powerful metaphors used in brochures and promotions for health care (time for a checkup), business (speedy service), travel (on time departures), aging or to announce upcoming seasonal events.

So wind up the old fashioned alarm clock, start your watches; it’s time to capture time. Or let it fly because you will be having fun figuring out creative ways to say: time is being wasted, time out or time is money . The idea of ‘time’ is one of the most compelling aspects of our lives. It governs our day, minute by minute.

Can you create an image for this assignment that says, “Too much time on your hands”? Or “making up for lost time?” There are other ways to show the passing of time such as waiting, rushing or boredom. And don’t forget about time past and future. Retro is back in fashion and you may take a look at this for inspiration Ellen Boughn's blog article .

As you plan for this assignment remember to think of why someone would want to use the concept of time on their website or printed piece. The more you consider the final usage, the better the concept usually is.

The first place winner will enjoy the 80Gb video iPod with the option of displaying the time of day on the screen and the ultra-cool, designer t-shirt from Dreamstime while second and third place winners will have a great time when wearing their winning t-shirts.

The clock is ticking, time is flying. So what are you waiting for? Ready and go. Assignment on Time is now officially opened. Don't waste any more time and start submitting here

We have had some good times with our Time assignment submissions but now it's time to check out the winners. Although time has really flown unaware watching the submissions, let's make some time to congratulate the best:

First place goes to Eti Swinford with her "time gone by"

 Times gone by

Second place goes to Luckynick with his body clock

 Body-clock

Third place goes to Yap Hong Chan with his time trapped people

 Trapped

The first three will each receive a memorable Dreamstime official T-shirt and the first place will also receive a memorable 80Gb Photo-video Ipod.

Congratulations to all who submitted time images and see you at the next assignment!

Hurry, time is flying and we still have some congrats and hugs to give to our Time assignment winners.

Congratulations to the winners. Eti's image is an innovative take on the concept of aging. It serves the stock mantra of always trying to make images that have more than one use or concept. This one is about time, about aging, and about aging healthy or not. Good work! Completely deserves to win. I know that this was a difficult assignment for some of you but I think the results are better than ever and I really don't see an image in the time assignment that I think will fail to generate downloads.

I know a lot of people got hung up on clocks and the obvious use of a clock. THis works but when you are thinking of the concept of time, don't forget other concepts. I saw an image yesterday while looking for images of Dubai. It was a perfect one for this assignment. Sand running through someone's hand. The sands of time. Anyway great work all of you. thanks for participating.

Ellen
