I am new here and I've come around with my friend's advice. And I was told that the approval time is quite fast. But it's been 7 days now and my images are still in the queue. It's written next to my image "under review" and after 10 minutes it says "4 hours left". This is really annoying.
So what about you how long do you wait for approval? |

Please contact support and provide the Ids of the respective images if possible.
We will definitely run a check up as it normally does not take that long for images to be reviewed.
But it depends on how crowded the Pending Line is. Also, keep in mind that the editors have the week-end days off.
Also, you need to wait at least 24 hours after the approval to be able to see them online in all areas of the site.
As mentioned above, it is better to contact support when your images seem to be stuck in the Pending Line for more than the usual review time.
The ETR - estimated time until your images are reviewed - is just as what it says, an estimation, so you cannot rely entirely upon it to deliver an exact amount of time. It is based on a number of factors that are variable. |

Hi
I m over a year in DT and approval time was always the same for everyone, it depends of global number of uploaded files so the long time of pending files is not different just for you. I think that sometimes it is changing from "under review" to "4 hours left" because the editors have also some limits of work time or others things. Year ago I was waiting several hours for my image now I'm waiting several days, but there are lots of new uploading photographers.
I advice to be patient, shoot, choose the good one, upload to DT and don't wait with your eyes watching pending list.

When I registered two months ago, the pending times were around three days. I guess the reason why this period is twice as long now may be the Christmas - it is a strong part of the year for many cultures around the world, so a lot of photographers post Christmas themes now. It may get better in January. It is just a guess, though :-) |

If you gonna see on stats and community tab, you'll see how many pictures are pending. Now it's around 35 000. It's big. The inspectors work very well and fast, it's just they received to much pictures in a short period.
Anyway, I doesn't matter because, I try to send a few pictures each 1 or 2 days so it's means I have pictures accepted or rejected regularly.... |

Approval times are starting to drag again. DT jumped on this problem 3-4 months ago because of complaints. It is an industry problem too many shooter and too many images. Agencies are in the numbers games and want too brag about how many images they have on line.
This always cause issues and delay in the approval process. Reject rate go up because the reviewers must deal with overload in volume. In the end it leads to fustration, anger, and disappointed submitters.
I think the industry need to come to grip with this problem. Start limiting the quantity of new submitters until more reviewers are hired or the image overload is addressed.
In the meantime continue to submit images for approval in very limited quantities and hope the reviewer's workload are reduced in short order.
Merry Christmas
and Happy New

Due to the high volume of submissions we are facing daily, the Pending time until review can vary accordingly. Some days review goes faster - due to low number of submissions, other days it can get more slowly.
We have struggled to keep Pending time under one week and we have managed this week to reduce the number of days you wait for review.
When the review time exceeds two weeks, then you need to write support for us to run a check up.
In the meantime, please be patient as we are doing our best. |

I think it is a simple concept. DT gets more and more "contributors" every week. Moreover, some people see that they can make money selling good images and they therefore upload more as time progresses. Thus the pipeline of images under review gets larger, but not necessarily in proportion to new sales (more images does not necessarily mean more sales). DT still has the same labor content and won't hire more reviewers unless it makes sense from a P&L standpoint. Throwing labor after symptoms of productivity constraints (such as heavy uploads) is a strategic move. That being said, we will all see cyclic review times until DT decides that sales are good enough to warrant more headcount to review images.

The original date of this thread tells you that it's not so common to have a long waiting time. Having to wait 10-14 days once or twice per year is not that bad, when usually the pending stays under 5 days. |

Also, it seems to be improving. Only an hour ago the ETR said 17hrs for files uploaded a week ago and now they're already under review. |

I am based in Malaysia and usually I don't get any images approved after midnight. Now it seems images get approved way past midnight. It is obvious that the editors are working very hard and putting in many hours. I thank you all very much but please don't overdo it. I can certainly wait and I am sure most of us can. |

Since it seems to be the source of so much stress and frustration, why doesn't DT just eliminate the ETR? While it was nice the times that it seems accurate, it's been out of whack more than it's been right, so why not just get rid of it?

The pending time of this month longer than last month, from 5days to 10-14days.
You can upload photos every days for little quantity then you don't think about
pending times. :) |

For the same reasons airports keep the ETD and ETA despite the fact that airplanes seldom arrive and depart on time. The "E" is an estimate only. Some estimate is better than being left completely in the dark. |

This is getting ridiculous! I submitted images for approval more than a week ago and the ETR is STILL in excess of 300 hours!! What's worse is that this amount keeps getting bigger. At this rate, I might have my images evaluated in a year's time!

Is there some reason the reviews have blown out to take so long. More contributors, less reviewers, some other project going on ? |

I'd like to know what's going on too. 588 hours for a review does seem highly out of the ordinary here. |
